The most common and preferred creative type to use for your campaigns is HTML.

How to Upload a new HTML Creative

Start with navigating to your advertiser in the Ads platform, and then select the "Advertiser Name > Creatives" section in the left navigation bar. On the top right click the "+" button, and then select the "HTML" option from the dropdown to start configuring your first HTML Creative.

This opens the new HTML dialog below, where you can select if you want to upload one new creative or a batch of creatives. For more details about batch uploads, please refer to this article

In the HTML tags section for uploading a single creative, you need to define the primary details for the creative:

  • Define a non-secure HTML tag;
  • Define the same tag as a secure HTML tag;
  • Define the dimensions of the creative (width x height).

While defining the creative tag, the Yieldr system will check to see if it recognizes a particular vendor to automatically add click tracking and cache busting macro's. Any changes made by the system will be highlighted in the platform.

It could so happen that your tag is not recognized by the system. This will be communicated in the platform and you will be requested to add both the click tracking and the cache busting macros yourself. Please use:

  • Click tracking macro: ${CLICK_URL}
  • Encoded click tracking macro: ${CLICK_URL_ESC}
  • Cache busting macro: ${CACHEBUSTER}

HTML Creative Settings

In the "Settings" section you can enter the basic details for your creative.

  • Name: Enter the name for the creative.
  • Add Creative to a Set: Choose whether you want to add a creative to a folder. If you want to add your creative to a set (this is optional), select either "Existing Set" and choose from your available sets, or select "New Set" and enter the name for the new creative set.
  • Ghostery AdChoice (Top Right): We've selected this option for you by default. By clicking the settings icon, you can choose the AdChoice icon to appear in a different position on your creative.
    (The Ghostery AdChoice is a small button in a corner of your ad that provides the user to information on interest-based advertising.)
  • Integral Ad Science: If you want to add viewability tracking to your creative, select this option. It will activate a tracking option that provides information on how long and how much of your creative was in view when served.
    (Please note that by switching on this option, an additional $0,04 CPM will be added on top of your media spend.)
  • Sizmek Ad Server: Select this option when your adtag is served by Sizmek. Standard ad serving is provided by Yieldr as the default setting.
    (Please make sure that when using Sizmek 3rd party tags, the click macro in the NCU parameter is between 4 extra dollar signs, like this: ncu=$$${CLICK_URL}$$).

Adding Creative Trackers

In the "Trackers" section you will be able to add additional impression trackers. This is optional.

  • Trackers: Enter third party trackers here. In case you also want to be able to serve the creative on secure inventory, please provide a secure tracker as well (https version).
  • Format: At the bottom of the page you need to select which type of format the tracker should respond with. "Image URL" is the most common type, which is why this option is selected by default. Please do not forget to click the "Add Tracker" button at the bottom right of the page, otherwise the trackers will not be added.

After you've completed this step, you're almost done. You only have to save your creative by clicking "Create" and the top left of your screen, and the creative(s) will be ready to be attached to a campaign!
