When the Yieldr Ads Tag is implemented properly, the next step to get you set up is the creation of your advertiser cases. Cases are used both to create audiences for retargeting purposes and to track website events.
Creating a new Advertiser Case
Start with creating a new case: first select your advertiser in the platform, and then navigate to the "Advertiser Name > Cases" section in the left navigation bar. On the top right click the "+" button to start configuring your first case.
Set as Funnel step or Audience Case
Is your advertiser case part of the sales funnel? Select whether your case is located somewhere on an advertiser's website. Yieldr has standardized advertiser's sales funnel levels to a maximum of 13 levels. When you mark a case as being part of the sales funnel, this case can be used both for optimization and reporting purposes.
When you select "Not Part of the Funnel" then you can skip the next step ("Select Funnel Stage") and go straight to "Configuring your Case Settings".
Select Funnel Stage
When you select the option "Part of the Sales Funnel", your next step is to define the Funnel Stage. Under "Funnel Stage" in the left navigation menu, you can choose between 13 standard funnel positions.
You don't have to create a case for every single funnel position, but it is advised to remain consistent when you choose funnel steps. Please note that you can only assign one funnel step per case, but it is possible to assign the same funnel step to multiple cases.
It is possible to re-assign funnel steps at a later stage, but we do not recommend doing this unless absolutely necessary, because this can have a significant adverse effect on the optimization of your campaign.
Click on the funnel category and then select the eligible funnel step.
Configure Case Settings
Name: Use a structured naming convention, like for example: Advertiser - Tag Name - Segment Name.
Yieldr Dynamic Creatives: Select the parameters that you would like to use as content variables for your dynamic creatives.
Disable User Sync Pixels: Yieldr will ensure maximum reach within all ad exchanges by syncing the users on Tag fires. This feature allows you to disable one or more of the ad exchanges and data providers to sync on this case. However, please note that when you disable user sync, there is a chance we will not be able to recognize your users in any of the ad exchanges, we therefore do not recommend using this feature if you don't need to.
Configure loading Conditions for your Case
Yieldr cases are based on / use Boolean logic. For more information on Boolean logic, please check out this page.
You can use two kinds of relations: AND & OR. If you apply the AND relation between groups, within groups the relation will be set to OR, and vice versa.
Example 1: Targeting Dutch users who searched for products with prices > €100.
Case Conditions: Create one group and make sure you're using the AND relation within this group, so "language equal to NL" AND "price greater than 100".
Example 2: Targeting Dutch users who searched for products with prices > €100, OR users that have a total order value of > €150.
Case Conditions: Create two groups, and set the conditions in group 1 to "language equal to NL" AND "price greater than 100", and in group 2 you set the condition to "language equal to NL" AND "order value greater than 150". The relation between the two groups should be set to OR.
When creating advertiser cases, you may use all parameters which you earlier configured during the configuration of your Tag.
If you select one of the default parameters, you may choose from the complete list of operators. This list contains operators like "greater than", "contains" & "after". You can also use these operators on custom build parameters, if you have selected the right right operator type. For example "greater than" only works on numbers based parameters.
When filling in parameter values, make sure you use the exact same format as used on the advertiser's website.
Select Piggybacks (optional).
When another party wants to track case loads (e.g. conversions) as well, you could use piggybacks. To start using piggybacks however, you first have to create them.
How to create piggybacks is explained in this helpdesk article.
After you've finished setting up all parameters, press the green "Create" button on the top left of the page to activate your case.
