In this article, we will walk you through creating an automated abandoned cart recovery campaign using Yieldr Air in Mailchimp. If you do not yet have a Mailchimp account, you can create one here. If your Mailchimp account is not connected to your Yieldr Air account, first follow this article here.
Setting up the Abandoned Cart flow in Yieldr Air is simple. First, navigate to the segments page. Under Automated Segments, click Create Abandoned Cart
Here, you can select the attributes you would like to stream to Mailchimp. Once these are selected, click Start Streaming.
Now, you should see the emails are streaming to your Mailchimp account.
Log into your Mailchimp account. Click Lists. You should now see the Abandoned Cart email list in your account. If you refresh the page, you should see that there are emails added to the lists as people search your website.
Now it is time to match the attributes collected from the Yieldr Air tag to your email list. On your Abandoned Cart list, select Settings from the dropdown arrow.
Now select List fields and *|MERGE|* tags
On this page you can manage the attributes taken from the Yieldr Air tag. In the example below, if you want the contacts first name to appear in the email subject or email itself, you would type *|FIRSTNAME|* into the subject line.
Once you design your email, you will use the Merge tags like the example below.
Now you are ready to design your abandoned cart campaign. Click Campaigns > Create Campaign
Now select Create an Email
Select Welcome new subscribers
Now name your campaign Abandoned Cart or something similar, and select the Abandoned Cart list. Click Begin.
Now you are ready to design your email. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
